Made In China

He Jia, an anchorwoman for China Central Television’s (CCTV) nationally televised news broadcast has accidentally declared the Philippines as a part of China. She apparently meant the Huangyan islands — known in the Philippines as the Scarborough Shoal (Panatag Shoal).

I will not be surprised when somebody else from China would declare American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez – a Filipino-Mexican, as a Chinese citizen also.

Why not? Isn’t almost everything “bang-for-the-buck” in the Philippines are proudly “Made In China”?

Baclaran, Divisoria…and that blank CD turned electronics accessories store known as CD-R King…almost every affordable item they sell came from China.

Even the toys that came with our Jollibee Value Meals were made in China.

Even the Hardware store across the street is owned by a Chinese.

I may wake up one morning realizing everything I bought and own were “Made in China”.

About Ross Del Rosario

I specialized in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). I'm also a public servant, a social media evangelist, and an entrepreneur. My personality is a mix of all genres, with a penchant for the absurd and graphically pleasing. I'm the IT professional who’s more into substance and creativity rather than structure and complexity, the gamer who takes a long time to finish a game because I often lose track of time admiring the eye-candy, and the sci-fi fanatic who who often ponders on the opportunity to experiment on people like lab animals minus the gross stuff like dissecting frogs (this last one is a joke).
